The surrounding hills of the Drome are an ideal base from which to explore nature. Whether walking, on horseback or on a bicycle, you can travel from farm to farm discovering the activities and the heritage of the region and its people.

If you are feeling a little more energetic - on the other side of the Isère river is the Vercors National Park where people enjoy hiking in the breathtaking scenery and visiting the very interesting cultural heritage sites.

The national park is also a paradise for skiing in the winter. Whether in Villard de Lans, Corrençon en Vercors , Autrans, Chaud Clapier or other family resorts you will find excellent downhill skiing, off-piste skiing, hiking or snowshoeing on hundreds of miles of snow in the middle of pine forests.

At the heart of the Rhone valley why not visit our greatest vineyards such as; Crozes Hermitage, Condrieu and Chateauneuf du Pape amongst others and also take the time to discover our many medieval fortresses and cities that have a rich historical past.

Horse lovers will be spoiled for choice for trails in the nearby hills or in the National Park for the most adventurous of you. And, golfers; there are quality fairways, either in the valley or on the lower steps of the Alps.

Cyclists of all levels will delight in the roads and highways of the region. And for the more experienced, why not explore the hills and valley's with a ride on the slopes of the Vercors. This region is a must for hikers where there is a huge choice of walking on the green hills, in beautiful gorges and longer excursions through the foothills.
